New York City is one place you can spend a week in and find yourself wanting more. Here are some interesting things to do and see.
The least expensive way to get from the airport into NYC is using the SUper Shuttle. You should contact them and arrange pick up prior to leaving for New York:
http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/nyc.htm
Take advantage of the New York City official website : http://www.nyc.gov Click on visitors information. You can find virtually any and all info on what to do in New York City on that website.
The Subway System in New York can get you virtually anywhere you want to go. Review the routs online, and ask for a map at any manned subway booth - it is really easy to get around if you use the maps. There are many buses in New York City as well, but the buses can seem exceedingly slow. Bus maps are available online as well.
A Metro Card will allow you to use the buses and subways. There are many types of cards available, as well as an unlimited one day pass. Read about them here: http://mta.info/metrocard/mcgtreng.htm#unlimited
There are two companies in New York City that offer Hop On Hop Off Double Decker Bus tours. These are tours where you can get on and off the buses as various locations to take advantage of sightseeing in many area of New York City.
City Sights NY: www.citysightsny.com Offers Downtown, Uptown & Night Tours.
Gray Line Bus Tours: http://www.coachusa.com/newyorksightseeing/ Offers uptown, downtown, Brooklyn, night tours and combination tours. On to the many classic "must sees" of New York:
The Empire State Building: http://www.esbny.com/index2.cfm Take advantage of the Sky Ride, a breathtaking view of New York City as seen through a helicopter.
The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island - http://www.circlelinedowntown.com/ Buy tickets online in advance to guarantee you will get in to visit the Statue. While tickets can be purchased at the Ferry itself, only a limited number of tickets are given out daily to visitors who want to access the inside of the Statue. If you purchase your tickets in advance, you will guarantee entrance to the Statue. Then take the ferry to Ellis Island for a tour of the place where millions of immigrants arrive in the U.S.
While you are on the website for tickets, you can also take a look at the Circle Line Ferry schedule for other areas - you can get a great "cruise" around Manhattan Island and see many interesting areas.
Take a look at Grand Central Station: http://www.grandcentralterminal.com/pages/default.aspx
New York is home to many interesting museums - I can personally recommend many of the Art Museums as well as the Museum of Television and Radio, the Intrepid Museum and the Museum of Natural History: http://www.amnh.org/ http://www.nyc.gov/portal/index.jsp?epi_menuItemID=5344998baa00eff6a62fa24601c789a0&epi_menuID=b89ffdd82b13aff6a62fa24601c789a0&epi_baseMenuID=27579af732d48f86a62fa24601c789a0
No trip to New York is complete without visiting Times Square for tickets to a show! In the middle of Times Square is the famous TKTS booth, where you can purchase half price tickets for shows the day of the show. Read about the TKTS booth here: http://www.tdf.org/tkts/
If you don't see the shows you like available at the TKTS booth (many of the most popular shows aren't available at the Booth) on the day of the show, got o the theater box office - unsold tickets may be available.
If you know in advance what you'd like to see, go to Broadway.com to see if tickets are available in advance of arriving in New York: http://www.broadway.com/
Don't forget off Broadway Shows as well - great family shows are "Stomp" and "The Blue Man Group".

HOW TO GET A CHEAP CAR RENTAL IN YOUR AREA OR WHILE ON VACATION.
These ideas are from a former Enterprise rent a car manager.
If your car is in the shop or you need a car in your area to move around.Get a lower rate by saying this line to the car rental clerk. When the clerk offers the insurance just get the basic or minimum. Dont get the million dollar add on insurance because you only get that if you die.
Here's how to get that insurance rate on your next rental: Call for a reservation, say your car was totaled and you need a replacement; your insurance company is cutting you a check for $25.00 per day flat so you need something for under $25. Tell the agent that your insurance company is State Farm, or Farmers, or someone big--the big insurance companies have the best rates (rates will vary a few dollars from company to company). You'll need your own proof of insurance when you come in but don't that needs to match what you say here, nobody cares and people utilize different insurance companies for all kinds of reasons (you were hit by another company's insured is probably the main reason). The important thing is that the insurance company is cutting you a check so you're responsible for this rental, you'll bring your own credit card, you don't even know who your adjuster was (if you know the name of a local adjustor you can use it, Enterprise's computer will show the adjustor's name but nobody's going to check, State Farm uses regional teams for their claims so for State Farm you could say "State Farm Team number something, I forget the exact number.").
The agent hates these calls--the cheapest car on his books is more than your lousy $25 allowance. In this case he is supposed to give you 'standard insurance rates' which are midway between what a big insurance company pays and retail, but in this instance he'll usually just source you to State Farm's bargain prices because it's not worth his time. He should offer you an economy or compact for somewhere around the $25. Stick to your guns: you absolutely have to keep under your $25. He can work that price to come to exactly $25 after tax (or close, if not just call another branch). By now you're locked into the insurance company's rates and he knows you're cheap: if you want an upgrade now is the time: "well I did have a Taurus, my adjustor mentioned I should be able to get something like that for $29.99, can we just do that instead? I can't really afford it but I think I need the space for my kids." Remember to be as nice as possible, if the agent likes you he'll make the deal even if he has to go out of his way to get your car (hint: mentioning you might need supplemental insurance can work wonders to seal the deal, see above).
Daily insurance rates are flexible per region and carrier, in my region which was a major Southern metropolitan area daily rates start around $21.99 for the economy, $23.99 compact, $27.99 mid, $30.99 full, $40.99 premium. Minivans start around $37.99, SUVs around $50.99, Luxury is rare on insurance deals but starts around $49.99. This is the bare minimum insurance replacement cost, rates are generally higher in the East and Northeast, a touch lower in the Midwest, and a lot higher on the West coast. Adjust your figures up or down depending on your geography, call two or three branches and you'll have a good idea of all the rates in your region.
When you are on vacation and you need a car to move around to see the beautiful tourist attractions. Again, when the clerk offers the insurance just get the basic or minimum. Dont get the million dollar add on insurance because you only get that if you die.Check out this ideas.
Enterprise Rent A Car runs the "weekend specials" because there are loads of spare cars on weekends. Airport and tourist-heavy places won't have much for you, but neighborhood branches will be "sitting fat" (way too many cars) 40 out of 52 weeks of every year, a branch that has zero cars on the lot can pull a car from another nearby store that certainly will have too many. Weekends are hard on insurance adjustors' numbers so they push the body shops to get all their jobs done by Friday evening, therefore a ton of rental returns come in on Fridays. Prices for the weekends are especially flexible, entirely dependent on how many cars there are in the area. I usually told my employees to roll a car at ANY price just get it off my books--having a car unrented over the weekend is murder on your branch's numbers, the more expensive the car the more we need to get it off the books for that weekend. If you want the premium car for $14.99 a day and I have one, I'll roll it (only caveat being you have to add my extra insurance if you want that price _and_ unlimited miles...plenty of locations are open on Saturday just stop by and remove the insurance tomorrow but keep your lower price). Enterprise corporate really frowns on cutting the rate and adding insurance but it's a great tool to clear out the lot on Friday afternoon.
For the best weekend deal call up on Friday sometime before 2pm and say, "I have all my info, drivers license and credit card, can I get a rental all setup so I don't have to do anything but sign the ticket when I come in?" This is GOLD because now the agent can pre-write your ticket and get that car off his books before the 2pm count (if a car is unrented at 2pm, it counts against the branch for that day so he'll write your ticket before 2:00 and then the car can sit there all day for all he cares). Have your rate in mind and ask for it--don't be afraid to make your own price! If there is a car available, you'll get that car. If you still can't get the rate you want, casually mention you probably need the extra insurance. He'll write the contract now, then you initial the "decline" boxes when you come for the car (so you changed your mind). The contract is already written; he can go back and take off the waiver with just a couple keystrokes, it'll probably cheese him off but you'll get your lower rate and not pay for the insurance.
debt cures- how to get out of debt- low rate credit cards
The key points in getting out of credit problem is to find a low rate credit card.
* Unpaid credit card balances are the worst kind of debt. Come up with a plan for paying these off, and make it a priority.
* Your goal should be to carry only one or two credit cards with balances paid in full every month.
Now that you have a sense of "good debt" and "bad debt," you might be worrying about one thing: that you have way too much of the bad stuff! (Or maybe not: if you're keeping the bad debt to a minimum, give yourself a pat on the back.)
If you're like many people, though, you're staring at a big pile of credit card debt that is costing you plenty in monthly payments. Not to worry, though, because in this lesson we're going to talk about how you can pay that debt down, and keep your credit card use under control in the future.
Pay Down That Credit Debt
It won't be enough, however, to just make minimum monthly payment.
1. Stop spending money like you free money. Think how are you going to pay all these at the end of the month. For example get a certified used care insted of a new one. Car monthy payments and insurance can take a big part of your paycheck.
2. Shop around for low rate credit card.
3. Always pay more than the minimum. The credit card companies are not just being nice when they require only a small minimum payment on your total balance. They calculate this minimum to extend your payments for as long as possible, to boost their profits. Scrimp if you need to, and pay as much as you can above the minimum every month.
4. Plan your attack. Don't just throw yourself at a mountain of debt without preparation. How many cards do you have? What interest rates do they charge? Which have the highest balances? Write down your balances for each card, and their interest rates. (There's space in the workbook for this.)
Generally, you'll want to start by paying off the card with the highest rate first, and then the next highest, and so on. If you want a quick boost, go ahead and pay off a card with a low balance, just to have one paid-off card under your belt.
5. Reduce the interest rate. Most credit cards charge anywhere from 16% to 20%, which is huge! But you can negotiate with your credit card company for a lower rate. Particularly if you've had any of your cards for a while, take advantage of being a faithful customer, and call them up to demand a lower rate. Shoot for 11% or 12%. You'd be surprised at how easy it is.
6. Consolidate your debts. OK, so you know what the interest rates and outstanding balances are for each of your cards, and you've reduced the rate on at least some of them. Next, consider combining your debts onto one or two of your lowest rate cards, if you've got some credit room on them. (If you're maxed out on those cards, then forget it.) Simply call your lender and ask how to transfer funds.
If you're making payments well above the minimum, have reduced the interest rates on your cards, and have consolidated your debt, then you're in good shape with your credit card debt.
How Many Cards Are Enough?
In the end, your goal is to carry only one or two credit cards, and pay off the balances each month. If you've gotten carried away and have five, six, or more cards, consider the benefits of closing out most of them:
* Simplicity. Fewer cards will be easier to track. In addition, you'll have a much better sense of your overall debt level when it's on one or two cards, rather than spread across a bunch of them.
* Better credit record. You'll want to have at least one credit card to help build your credit history. If you're married, your spouse should have at least one card in his or her name only, for the same reason. Too many cards can hurt your credit rating, particularly if they all have large unpaid balances.
* Less temptation. The more cards you have, the easier it is to rationalize excessive spending. "After all, this card only has $500 on it!" (Never mind that you've got two more that are carrying $5,000 each.) But, remember that your card's credit limits are not like poker bets: you don't have to match (or much less "raise") them. Fewer cards, lower balances: that's your goal.
Summary
We've given you six concrete steps toward getting credit card debt under control. Head to your workbook for some hands-on debt intervention. Hopefully, you share our vision of two credit cards, maximum, with balance paid in full each month.

$500,00 from a car accident in New York. Personal Injury lawsuit - An IBM employee got $500,000 for a car accident
A personal injury occurs when a person has suffered some form of injury, either physical or psychological, as the result of an accident or medical malpractice.
The most common type of personal injury claims are road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping accidents, assault claims, accidents in the home, defective product accidents and holiday accidents. Indeed, there are a multitude of types of accident and the term personal injury also incorporates medical and dental accidents (which lead to numerous medical and dental negligence claims every year) and conditions which are often classified as industrial disease cases. Industrial disease type cases include asbestosis and mesothelioma, chest diseases (e.g. emphysema, pneumoconiosis, silicosis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic obstructive airways disease), vibration white finger, occupational deafness, occupational stress, contact dermititus, and repetitive strain injury cases.
Where the accident was the fault of someone else, the injured party may be entitled to monetary compensation from the person whose negligent conduct caused the injury. At least in the United States this system is complex and controversial with critics calling for various forms of tort reform. Attorneys often represent clients on a "contigency basis," in which the attorney does not charge for services until the case is resolved.
• This case was in New York . A woman recovered $500,000 as a total settlement after a car accident. As an employee at IBM Corporation with a stellar record, she was forced to miss about one year of work off and on over 4 years. Given that she was a wage earner, the insurer agreed to pay $500,000 to settle the case.

how to find the best car accident and personal injury lawyer
A personal injury lawyer is a lawyer who provides legal representation to those who claim to have been injured, physically or psychologically, as a result of the negligence or wrongdoing of another person, company, government agency, or other entity. Thus, personal injury lawyers tend to be especially knowledgeable and have more experience with regard to the area of law known as tort law, which includes civil wrongs and economic or non-economic damages to a person’s property, reputation, or rights.
They also handles work injuries, automobile and other accidents, defective products, medical mistakes, slip and fall accidents, and more.
How to find?
Referral Services
Most local bar associations have referral services in which the names of lawyers are available, arranged by legal specialty. There is a wide variation in the quality of lawyer referral services, however, even though they are supposed to be approved by the state bar association. Some lawyer referral services carefully screen attorneys and list only those attorneys with particular qualifications and a certain amount of past experience, while other services will list any attorney in good standing with the state bar who maintains liability insurance. Before you choose a lawyer referral service, ask what its qualifications are for including an attorney and how carefully lawyers are screened.
What you may not get from any lawyer referral service, however, is insight into the lawyer's philosophy -- for instance, whether the lawyer is willing to spend a few hours to be your legal coach or how aggressive the lawyer's personality is. Don't make a decision about a bar referral lawyer until you have met and interviewed him or her.
